Deluxe Tour! Six Stars for Mario!

I would not go with any other company to Valle de Guadalupe after being on tour with Mario from Baja California Wine Tours! Mario's tour was beyond our expectations. His attention to detail and great customer service made all the difference. He also knows all the right people in Valle de Guadalupe and he knows the best wineries and restaurants to visit. He is a regular and you can tell everyone down in the valley loves him. We visited three awesome wineries and the food at El Tahal was nothing short of the best meal I have ever had!! My wife and I joined Mario's public tour and we traveled with another eight passengers who were all very nice. The whole day was fantastic and we look forward to booking another tour with Mario very soon. I highly recommend Mario's company!!

Best two day tour I have ever taken!

We had been to the valley before but never had the chance to stay the night and to take things slowly. Fortunately we ran into Baja California Wine Tours who offered the best deal for the best price on an overnight stay in Valle de Guadalupe. Mario, our guide and coordinator, from the beginning sounded like a true knowledgeable person regarding Baja (and all of Mexico for that matter!). He put together a fantastic two day/one night stay for our group of eight that turned out to be the best tour we have ever taken! Mario's professionalism and friendliness made everything so much more better. He is also really funny and fully trilingual (Spanish, English and Italian). We visited three artisan wineries on day one; Bruma, Casa de Piedra and Torres Alegre. At all three wineries we had a professional private blind tasting of reserve wines done by the owners/winemakers of the wineries. Hugo Da'Costa and Victor Torres Alegre who are two very important people in the valley where there to chat with us and make our experience so much more exciting. For lunch we went to Finca Altozano for a delicious five course meal composed of aji tostadas, octopus, lamb, zucchini and top sirloin. Our hotel, Adobe Guadalupe, was beautiful and we were able to use the Spanish horses from the property and enjoy a refreshing splash in the hotels swimming pool.
On day two we started with breakfast at Cocina de Dona Estela. Amazing typical Mexican breakfast and cafe de hoya with corn pancakes and borrego tatemado. Then we headed to Rancho Cava de Marcelo for cheese tastings and sangria. We got a very complete tour of the cheese making process, tasted a dozen types of aged cheese and gelato. The owner, Marcelo Ramonetti sat with us during lunch and told us the story about how his family became cheese makers in Mexico. Lunch was composed of organic vegetables, fish and steak on the grill. After a half day at Cava de Marcelo we headed to Cuatro Cuatros winery to enjoy wine and the view from top of the mountain. Mario allowed us to stay until sunset even though we were supposed to return to San Diego by 6pm. Mario was the main reason our tour was so amazing! He is always asking you if you need anything and making sure nothing is missing for you to enjoy the tour. If you are looking for a luxury trip with amazing food, the best wineries and a very knowledgeable and friendly guide I highly recommend Mario and Baja California Wine Tours. We had other options to choose from but so glad we went with Mario. Sure, other companies might be cheaper but instead of gourmet meal you will get tacos. Instead of visiting top artisan wineries you will be taken to a smelly fishing village. And instead of a boutique hotel you will be camping out in the cold wilderness.
We are looking forward to our next adventure with Mario and Baja California Wine Tours. Thanks for everything Mario!

I recently completed a wine tasting tour, run by an amazing guy named Mario, to Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California, Mexico. Pickup & drop off from my hotel was included in the package. I travelled with 3 other lovely people in a comfortable six seater car. Mario made of all feel so welcome and special. We all had a wonderful day, wine tasting at 3 classy wineries, including a lavish lunch time feast. The trip was very reasonable priced for the excellent service we received. I thoroughly recommend Baja California Wine Tours and would use them again in a heartbeat if ever I return to California.

Wonderful experience in the Valle!

Mario with Baja California Wine Tours was awesome. Knowledgeable about the wine, the area, the history. He offered snacks, was patient and personable. He texted the day before to make sure we received the itinerary and sent us a whole photo album the next day from our trip. I was unsure about doing a tour but it was a wonderful experience and so glad we did. I highly recommend Mario and his company!

I had a good time on this tour to Tijuana. Mario picked me up from my hotel and he was on time. His van was very clean and cleanliness is something I always look for.
I felt very safe and comfortable with him. He was very knowledgeable and armed with information about every aspect of the tour. It was interesting to see the wall built into the ocean. I learned a lot that day and was glad that I took the time to do this tour.
I totally recommend Mario to everyone because he is simply wonderful!

Puerto Nuevo Lobster

My sister and I loved our tour with Mario! He was very informative about local history and culture during our visit to the Cultural Center and along the border. Next, we went to the famous Rosarito hotel and swam. Lastly, we had delicious lobster and he helped us bargain for some great souvenirs! We would highly recommend this tour!

We loved this truly original tour!

We found out that not everything in Valle de Guadalupe is only about wine... we had a beautiful hiking experience to an amazing gorge (where you can actually do great canyoning). We visited the local Kumiay community where the authority blessed our family with traditional chants and sage.
Lunch was simply spectacular, fresh and delicious. The farm to table concept at its best in the Valle. This experience is a whole lot more than we expected. Thank you Mario!

Third time Customers!

I'm a person who likes perfection and most importantly I want to be able to enjoy a trouble free trip/tour because who wants problems when you are on vacation? Right? That's why I have come to Mario and his company, Baja California Wine Tours, for the third time because when booking a tour with him I am guaranteed a trouble free adventure professionally put together that it's fun and awesome! This time our tour was to Ensenada for sailing and to visit all the surrounding areas of the city.
Our tour started from San Diego where Mario picked up our group of eight right on time. We headed straight to Tijuana to have breakfast at La Telefonica because we had heard so much about that place that we wanted to try it. Then we continued to Ensenada via the scenic route along the Pacific. Amazing views!! We stopped over at El Mirador for pictures and restroom stop. We also bought Mexican candy and coconuts. Then we arrived at the port of Ensenada where our yacht was waiting for us to sail away. We spent about three ours sunbathing on the deck of the luxury yacht and drinking cocktails. We also went swimming in the bay and had ceviche tostadas. After our amazing sail around the Ensenada Bay we went to Calle Primera in downtown Ensenada for shopping and then drinking at Husong's Cantina (be careful with the tequila shots because they just keep coming! One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor!). To finalize our amazing adventure, Mario took us to Cuatro Cuatros winery in El Tigre to enjoy the view from Bar Bura at top of the mountain. We stayed there until sunset (incredible and romantic sunset). Then we were off to San Diego. Our adventure had ended the perfect way and the border line was only about 45 minutes. As always, Mario came through for a third time and I'm sure there will be more. Highly recommend Mario and Baja California Wine Tours.

Beyond Expectations

My family and I decided to be adventurous and disregard all the bad publicity about Mexico not been a safe place to visit (all lies!). I’m glad we did and I’m glad we got to take an awesome tour to wine country with Baja California Wine Tours. Mario, our guide, made our experience even more unforgettable! He is friendly, experienced, professional and he knows everybody in Valle de Guadalupe. We never felt in danger in Mexico and Mario took care of all the details. He took us to three amazing wineries, Bruma, Pedro Domecq and Cuatro Cuatros. Lunch at Finca Altozano was the highlight of the trip. Delicious Mexiterranean (Mexican-Mediterranean) food which was beyond belief. The wine was amazing, specially the Nebiolos. I wouldn’t hesitate to book another tour in the future with Mario and Baja California Wine Tours. Definitely the whole experience was beyond our expectations!!
