Five Star Four Day Tour

My wife and four of our close friends wanted to spend four days in Baja touring the best restaurants, wineries and cultural sites posible. Fortunately we ran into Mario from Baja California Wine Tours!! Mario and his company were definitely the right choice from the beginning. The whole adventure was beyond perfect and the service and attention to detail impeccable. I checked with other companies and noene was willing to do the tours as we had planned it. Mario did not hesitate to accommodate our request and for a great price. Mario is the friendliest guide and he knows so much about the region. He also has all the right connections!
Our trip lasted four days. We stayed at a boutique hotel in Valle de Guadalupe which I highly recommend, El Cielo. On day one we visited Tijuana and Puerto Nuevo. The best lobster in the world! On day two we spent the day in Valle de Guadalupe where we visited three top of the line wineries and ate at Fauna, Deckman's and Finca Altozano. On day three we went cheese tasting to Cava de Marcelo. and on day four we headed to Tecate for craft beer tasting, hiking and horseback riding. We even visited the Kumiai indian reservation. Awesome experience!! All in all I highly recommend Mario and Baja California Wine Tours for any tour in Baja. Looking forward to booking again soon with Mario.

Baja California Wine Tour

In July, my wife and I booked a private tour/trip with Mario from Baja California Wine Tours to tour two wineries in Baja and Tijuana. The entire trip was absolutely amazing (first class all the way). Mario picked us up from our hotel in La Jolla, CA and we started out to Mexico. Our first stop was in Tijuana (which was not a planned stop). He wanted to show us an area along the border wall where families celebrated family events on either side of the wall. Often, some of the families were on the US side and others on the Mexico side. They would come together at the wall to celebrate, despite being separated by a wall. Then we headed on towards the wineries. We stopped at one location to take pictures from the top of a cliff of the water view. It was about a 2 hours plus drive down to the wineries. It flew by as Mario spent the entire time talking to us about the Mexican culture, where we were going, etc. He has so much information about the Mexican culture and history. It was really amazing and interesting to hear. We stopped at one winery which was breathtaking. Mario, to our surprise had arranged to have different types of cheeses brought out with our wine tasting. It was really nice. We were only supposed to stop at one winery, however, since we were the only people there (we got there very early as it opened), it went faster than expected. Mario decided to take us to a second winery at his cost. The next winery was all below ground. It was so amazing to see. After our second winery, we went to lunch with him at this amazing 5-star restaurant in Baja owned by one of the top chefs. The food was absolutely amazing. He joined us for lunch which was so much fun. After lunch we headed to Tijuana to spend an hour walking around, and then he brought us to the local market where the locals shop for stuff. What another great experience. As we were approaching the border, Mario's wife called to tell him that the border traffic going back into the US would be ~3-4 hours wait. Mario had a backup plan for everything. Mario said we are going to park my car, and we will walk over the board (which will take 5-10 minutes). He had arranged to have his wife pick us up on the US side of the border and take us back to the hotel . I asked what about your car. He said he would come back for it later. He had everything so well thought out/every last detail. He said I can't allow you sit at the border for that long. In the end, we started to look for a parking spot for his car so we could walk over the border, at that point he noticed the line for his fast pass crossing was not too bad so decided to drive over the board. The wait was not that bad. In the end, it was such an amazing day. The main reason for it was Mario. He is such a nice guy and really planned out a nice trip. I would highly recommend his company to anyone. Spencer

Fantastic trip and stellar guide

Four of us had the opportunity to tour Valle de Guadalupe at the beginning of July. It was a fantastic trip from start to finish: the food was terrific, the wine was excellent, and, most important, Mario was the best tour guide we could have asked for. His pacing of the trip was excellent - never making us feel rushed, but also making sure that we moved along at a good pace in order to see much of what the area had to offer. He is kind, well-connected, and very smart. We all felt lucky to be able to tour this area of Baja California with Mario leading the way.

Amazing 30th Birthday Celebration

I traveled with my two friends to Valle de Guadalupe for my 30th birthday. We could not have had a better time. Mario was prompt, professional, and very knowledgeable about the area and the wines. The area itself is beautiful and we were not disappointed with the choice of wineries. The lunch at Finca Altozano was my favorite part. The food and drink pairings in addition to the incredible atmosphere was out of the world. The drive back over the border was not as bad as we were expecting, but that can vary. We will definitely book with Baja California Wine Tours again. Mario was the best!

Baja Wine 🍷 Tour

Mario has been a great guide, it was short but still nice trip to Mexico and I am happy I went there. Felt safe and we went to nice wineries and I was able to see Mexico looking different to stereotypes.

Absolutely wonderful tours to Baja!

I really can't say enough great things about Mario and his Baja tours!

My wife and I were looking for a private tour to Valle de Guadalupe, and got referred to Mario. Right from the start, we were impressed by how flexible he was, since we were booking just a few days out. He even offered to pick us up at our house, which we were definitely not expecting.

In short, we had an absolute blast! The choice of wineries, the food, the great conversation - everything was fantastic.

In fact, we enjoyed it so much we immediately booked a second tour to Puerto Nuevo for the following weekend! We brought more of our family along for that one, and it ended up being a wonderful family trip that we'll never forget. I really appreciated how accommodating Mario was - we asked if it was possible to see more of Tijuana than was originally on the itinerary, and he had no problem giving us a bonus tour of Avenida Revolucion.

It's clear that Mario is an experienced guide - he knows a great deal about the local history culture, food, and attractions. We will *definitely* be booking another trip with Mario in the future, and I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

Wine Tour

What an amazing tour! Our tour guide, Mario, was professional, accommodating and incredibly sweet! Crossing the border can be stressful and time consuming, but Mario and this tour made the entire thing such a breeze. The wineries selected were gorgeous and everything we had was phenomenal.

Great Tour - Great Guide!

Spent this past Saturday and Sunday wine tasting and food eating in Baja, CA. It was my first time going to Valle de Guadalupe and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Mario met us, drove us, introduced us, answered questions, and provided interesting facts along the way. In two days visited five wineries, had two delicious lunch stops and even a beer tasting. Having Mario as our guide definitely made the experience excellent. Will be booking again!

AMAZING!!!

Baja California Wine Tours provided us with the most amazing tour of the region. Our guide/owner Mario was kind, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. The day was awesome. We started our morning pick up in Chula Vista, CA with an offer of light breakfast- coffee/pastries. From there we traveled to Tijuana. The ride was comfortable, and our guide engaged us in conversation during the short drive to the border. Mario certainly knows his history and is definitely up on current events. I was truly impressed. We toured local neighborhoods, snagged some good trinkets, had lobster lunch on the beach while being serenaded by our own Mariachi band. All in all this was one of the best experiences I've EVER had. I would gladly do this with Baja California Wine Tours again.
