Take a tour behind the scenes to learn the process of how the best tequila in the world is made while enjoying tequila tastings of white, reposado and añejo tequila at several of the most famous tequila distilleries like Jose Cuervo, Tequila Sauza and La Cofradia!

 

Connect with nature while enjoying a fun horseback adventure galloping amongst thousands of blue agaves located in the agave fields of Tequila.

 

Feel the warmth and joy of the people of Jalisco as you visit many of UNESCO’s “World Heritage Sites” like Tlaquepaque, Tequila, and the ruins of Guachimontones!

 

You will also experience the charm of the beautiful city of Guadalajara where Mariachi was born, and enjoy delicious traditional food from the state of Jalisco like the famous Tortas Ahogadas, Birria and Pozole!

 

You will also have the opportunity to spend time sightseeing in downtown Guadalajara where you can appreciate incredible Spanish Colonial architecture and visit the famous Teatro Degollado, The Guadalajara Cathedral, and Liberation Square.

Itinerary:


Day One

Meet your guide in the early morning at the CBX terminal in Otay Mesa.

Cross the bridge conveniently connected to the Tijuana Airport for our departure flight.

Arrive at the Guadalajara airport where our private comfortable transport will be waiting.

Drive to the City of Tequila to check in at our luxury hotel (Hotel Matices, La Cofradia).

Delicious traditional lunch, Jalisco style, at “Colores y Sabores Restaurant” in La Cofradia.

Tour behind the scenes of the tequila making process at “La Cofradia” distillery with tastings.

Visit downtown Tequila and take a tour aboard the barrel shaped bus with visit to “Tequila Cuervo” distillery.

Dinner in town at an elegant traditional Mexican restaurant with live mariachi music and more tequila.

Back at our hotel for overnight rest.

Day Two

Breakfast at “Colores y Sabores restaurant” in La Cofradia..

Visit to the opal and obsidian mines.

Visit to the archeological site of the ruins of Guachimontones.

Visit to “Cantaritos el Güero” for tequila and lunch.

Back to the town of Tequila for sightseeing and shopping.

Visit to the Museum of Tequila in town.

Dinner in town at an elegant traditional Mexican restaurant with live mariachi music and more tequila.

Back at our hotel for overnight rest.

Day Three

Breakfast at “Colores y Sabores restaurant” in La Cofradia..

Horseback riding amongst the blue agave fields of “La Cofradia” with guided historical tour.

Visit to “Tequila Sauza” distillery for a behind the scenes tour and more tequila tastings.

Lunch in town by the Plaza of Tequila.

Check out from the hotel in Tequila and head to the City of Guadalajara.

Check in at our hotel in the heart of downtown Guadalajara, “Hotel de Mendoza”.

Dinner at one of the best traditional restaurants in the city center with a live Mariachi concert.

Back at our hotel for overnight rest.

Day Four

Breakfast at Hotel de Mendoza..

Guided tour on foot around downtown Guadalajara; visit to cathedrals, markets, plazas, museums and historic buildings.

Lunch, time to try the traditional “Tortas Ahogadas” at a local restaurant.

Board our transport to go visit Zapopan and Avenida Chapultepec (high end residential area).

Elegant dinner at one of the many fancy restaurants in Ave. Chapultepec, “party time”!.

Back at our hotel for overnight rest.

Day Five

Breakfast at Hotel de Mendoza..

Board our transport to go visit “Tonala Artesanal” to experience all the artscraf of the locals.

Visit to “Tlaquepaque” for more art craft amongst elegant shops and establishments.

Last lunch at one of the funnest restaurants in Tlaquepaque featuring mariachi and tequila.

Board our transport to head to the airport to catch our late flight back to Tijuana.

Cross the CBX bridge to safely arrive at Otay Mesa terminal in San Diego.

End of tour

Notes: For now this Tequila Tour is been offered only on May 2, 2024. Times are approximations. Distilleries, hotels, restaurants and places to visit are subjected to change based on availability, season and weather conditions. A Minimum of six guests are required for the tour to run. The price of $2,500 dollars plus tax per person covers: airfare, 4 nights lodging, three meals per day, basic tequila tastings at distilleries, entrance to all sights and distilleries that will be visited, ground transportation during the duration of the trip.

NOT INCLUDED: Drinks or beverages during meals, tips to guides and drivers during trip, extra tastings at distilleries, additional songs requested to musicians, medical expenses, health coverage or medical emergencies or hospitalization, legal fees related to an unforeseen legal issue while in Mexico, customs and immigration fees, airport or travel permit fees.
